Printable Bible Project

When I tried to find a version of the Bible so that I could create a printable version of Romans, I was surprised to discover that most translations of the Bible are not public domain. How could that be possible, I wondered. I mean, it’s the BIBLE.

So, I did a little research and discovered that one of the versions of the Bible that IS in the public domain is the World English Bible. In fact, there is a nice website for this edition – WorldEnglish.Bible – where I was able to pull the text and the footnotes. Nothing has been altered. All I’ve done is give it a neat and functional document format. After all, that’s one of my favorite things to do, document formatting.

I will post links here each time I finish a book of the Bible. Feel free to download them (they will be in PDF format initially). Eventually I will re-learn how to make the PDF into a version that will allow digital notes as well. It has been a few years since I’ve done document work, but the more I work with it the more I remember.

Once I get a higher quantity of books transitioned to the new format, I’m going to make a printed version available for purchase, more than likely from my Etsy storefront. Please feel free to share that link to anyone who is looking to purchase a Bible designed specifically for note-takers.
